Would love to see the select service on M23 starting on Lexington or Madison Avenue stop, make it faster to go crosstown. We are big fans of the bus, but it takes a long time for the bus to go crosstown and we often have 2 or 3 buses coming in a row.
The sidewalk by the 6 train stop is far too narrow, and frequently obstructed by construction. NYCDOT should consider widening sidewalks in this area, as well as coordinating with the MTA to ensure MTA construction impacts on pedestrians are minimized.
It'd be nice if there was a shorter connection from Madison Square park with the Flatiron Plaza. Maybe if part of 23rd Street was one-way only you could extend the sidewalks.
Buses need to stay on schedule. Too many cars double parked create delays
23rd street needs more busses. Busses need to come more frequently. I often travel from 3rd Avenue to 10th Avenue. If the bus is not at the stop or visible; I walk to 10th Avenue. This is a 20 to 25 minute walk. 90% of the time, no bus even passes me during this time! The 23rd street bus is completely unreliable!
Bus arrives late and its cold outside!!!
The bike paths along this area are very important to keep as they create a safe route for bikes to enter and leave the waterfront Greenway.
There are often between 3 and 7 vehicles parked on the bike lane here in both the early morning and later afternoon. Steps such as putting cameras on buses to capture the licenses of cars parked on the Select bus lane or creating a physical barrier would be needed to prevent these vehicles from slowing down the bus.
Not only do taxis park in front of the No Parking sign here but there are always a few city buses parked and blocking a traffic lane here when I return home around 4:30 PM each work day.
Trucks double park in the westbound lanes on the east side of the intersection of 23/2 to unload for the grocery store. Buses are forced to move into the left westbound lane, where they are blocked by drivers waiting to turn left onto 2nd ave.
