Atlantic is incredibly dangerous for pedestrians and safety should be prioritized
Please invest in tree curbs and greenery for all of these bus corridors. It's seriously lacking across Crown Heights and makes the bus waits way more tolerable when there's no bus shelter
Invest in greenery and public realm improvements for Grant Gore plaza
This is a Vision Zero intersection for the DOT and you wouldn't tell. As a pedestrian, it's so unsafe that I actively avoid it even if that makes my commute longer than it should.
Buses stuck in traffic
Install speed humps in this area to address the frequent speeding
Make Open Streets program at Franklin Avenue permanent similarly to that of Vanderbilt Avenue
Pedestrians should be able to cross the street without fearing a car making a turn is going to run them over like it happens now.
The Grant Gore plaza should evolve from a car-centric design to a space that is also pedestrian friendly. Why is the timing of the traffic lights so short for pedestrians? Why do I have to fight to cross the street before an incoming car tries to make a turn? Why do we have cars parked next to the statue?
Implement daylighting and neckdowns at this intersection to improve pedestrian safety and visibility. The recent car accidents and traffic violence in the area merit some measures from the DOT
