Illegal Parking
Illegal Parking
Amersfort Pl - Farragut Rd - Glenwood Rd

Car illegally park at the end of this triangle daily. Clearer signage and street markings could help. It makes it hard for cars to turn onto these streets and hard for pedestrians to reach the corner.

Cars constantly run red lights at this intersection. There is a delayed red light and crossing guard during school hours but it does not help. It feels very dangerous as a pedestrian. A camera may help.

Sometimes I like to sit on the corner and watch the illegal 53 foot trailers go by. My friends and I place bets about if we will see more 48 or 53s. Best part is when you watch cops cruising around ignoring the 53 foot trailers while they go to/from the drug market on the corner with Lincoln to collect their bribes.

Lincoln Rd - Ocean Ave - Flatbush Ave

Why is Lincoln open to private cars? It should be busses only. It’s just a place for cars to drag race avoiding the ocean/empire intersection. There’s so many close calls here with the busy subway that’s only accessible from one side of the street. Combined with the speeding, illegal driving, and the car insanity from the boys parked on Flatbush corner selling drugs it’s just so wild.

Tilden between Flatbush and Bedford is a nightmare. Because it is the only two-way section of Tilden cars are constantly making U-turns, trucks and vehicles are almost always double parked, and driving is extremely dangerous. There is virtually no enforcement. Making this one way would improve the flow, safety, and speed of this street.

East 22 St - Deadend - Duryea Pl

Tilden between Bedford and Ocean is perilous for cars and bikers because it is the only two way stretch of Tilden (Regent then becomes one way again. Cars are often double parked on both sides because of Food Bazaar making the two way street effectively one lane. Trucks delivering to Food Bazaar are often double parked as well as are massive. When I'm driving, this often means traffic from this block of Tilden is backed up on Bedford and Tilden and it can take 5-7 minutes to get down one block. On a bike, Tilden feels really dangerous. But there is no good way to get east to west (& vic versa) between the two bike lanes on Ocean and Bedford from Caton all the way to Avenue D (and probably further south than that). Because streets intersect with Flatbush as a dead end both way, I am always zigzagging on Flatbush on my bike to try to get across Flatbush which I hate doing when biking my children. One option would be to add a bike line from Bedford to Ocean on Tilden/Regent which would allow for easier southeast to northwest travel (i.e. from the south of Flatbush neighborhood to Prospect Park). There needs to be 1-2 additional east/west bike paths added that allow for passage both ways between the bike lanes on Bedford and Ocean.

Brooklyn Ave - Empire Boulevard - Brooklyn

It's very hard to bike on Brooklyn Ave between empire and E NY. The road is goes steeply downhill and cars regularly speed down and pass unsafely close when you are on a bike. The protected bike lane should be extended from E NY all the way to Eastern parkway to provide a safe and conflict free route.

Walking here really sucks. Please help get these cars off the street.

This intersection has heavy traffic from cars, commercial vehicles, and transit buses. Many double parked cars also cause traffic.
