This intersection is always a mess during commuting time when I need to access Parkside station. Cars always blocking.
Walking through this intersection always feels so chaotic.
Silly to add a bus lane here; it'll block the intersection for pedestrians and other traffic.
Busses block pedestrians here. The project makes no sense! Instead of wasting the money on bus lanes, put security cameras and police on the busses. And use the money to help self-driving taxis to compete with bus fair in a few years! They'll provide a better service.
The new bus lanes leave no room for anyone to pull over for any reason, which futher backs up an already congested Flatbush ave artery leading to the Manhattan and Brooklyn bridges. Local buses were never meant to be fast.
Please do the most reliable bus treatment that will speed up the bus the most on Flatbush Ave. B41 buses right now are slow and unreliable, and bus riders deserve good transit!
Bike connections, especially north-south ones are very difficult because Bedford Avenue is always blocked. It's a well known "secret" among cyclists that riding in the bus lanes on Nostrand and Rogers is supposedly easier, but this makes the bus slower and doesn't work well after hours when cars use those lanes for dangerous speeding. I am really excited about the bus projects on Flatbush and Utica, but in order to see them fully succeed, I urge DOT to ensure there are safe, protected non-bus lane bike connections throughout the area.

Center bus lanes will be a terrible idea. Utica Ave currently already has bus lanes in each direction. Moving them to the center will create more traffic as the cars will have fewer available lanes and will disrupt the traffic flow on this major Brooklyn artery.
Flatbush needs a bike lane and double parking/bus stop parking enforcement from Empire to Kings Plaza
