I am a doctor at The Lenox Hill Hospital and a qresident on east 78th Street. Although I am in favor of electric cars, there should NOT be charging stations on east 78th between Park and Lexington Avenues. I am very familiar with the traffic patterns. Ambulances use East 78th Street between Park and Lexington as a route to take critically ill patients to the ER in Lenox Hill Hospital on 77th Street. Where you have proposed charging stations is already a traffic nightmare with the Allen Stevenson school at the end of the block. The block does not need thr additional traffic that the charging stations will bring. Even if the charging stations do not cause any additional traffic, pulling a car into a parking space always causes delays for the traffic in back of it. Please consider the safety and well being of patients in the ambulances and put the charging stations on a block that has less traffic.
