The traffic lights around here don't have a countdown clock, even those all the way up on Flatlands Ave, so before anyone knows it, the light's turning red, and they have to either dash to the other side of the street or wait because they don't want to risk it and get run over.
Large tree roots have made the sidewalk here an uneven mess. Walking through here feels like a workout and an obstacle course.
An accident occurred here that required police presence and caused one/two streets to be closed off.
One side of the traffic light stays green over a minute longer than the other side.
Sometimes four B103 buses arrive to this stop back-to-back, and some drivers don't bother to stop even though there's room on their bus and they clearly see pedestrians trying to signal them.
I hear a lot of car tires screeching like drivers think it's the Fast and the Furious.
The signal facing E 84th street stays green for only what feels like 10 seconds before turning red again, while the light facing Flatlands stays green for between one or two minutes. This makes a great deal of difference between arriving to school/work on time or late.
On the 13th last month, there was a car accident at this intersection as one driver was turning. One of the victims was taken away in an ambulance. The people living in this area also hear a lot of cars screeching and speeding.
