The intersection needs to be rebuilt to have a crosswalk here. I see people crossing through all of these lanes of traffic here all the time.
This street is right near the Kew Gardens subway station. Since the area is right near the GCP and the Van Wyck, drivers from Eastern Queens park here, get on the subway, and then on the way back take the subway to here and drive their cars home. Drivers hover around for parking spaces. There really should be paid parking on these blocks.
Double parking is so regular that it has become a way of life.
There is going to be an elevator between the mezzanine and the street but there have to be elevators between the station platforms and the mezzanine.
I use this intersection every day. It is very dangerous. It is impossible to cross the street without first walking into the intersection. It is like Frogger. When crossing one half of the street you might have to slow down to pass behind a car, but when you cross the other half of Kew Gardens Road you have to run so that you can get out of the intersection before a car comes. I have not seen an accident here, but I would not be surprised if there is one soon. The intersection should be narrowed.
The F should be extended along Hillside Avenue to Springfield Boulevard to reduce areas with the longest travel times in the nations.
Traffic light to manage the flow of heavy traffic and speeding vehicles.
4 ways stop is needed to reduce speeding. No tracker trailer parking tow away zone signs.
Needs to become a one way street, since it's to narrow for 2 way traffic.
Traffic light need to assist cars trying to turn on to or out of Jordan Ave. Police cameras to deter loitering and illegal activities.
