Buses such as Q30 are always crowded and fill up quickly with commuters transferring from the F train in the afternoon peak hours from 4p - 7pm.
Commuter vans usually parked here when there are clear no standing bus zones. MTA buses are frequently delayed and congested at this point.
After cars turn, there are red traffic lights that prevent them from moving further, causing massive traffic in the streets that are frequently used by MTA buses, which make the buses always late. Commuter vans also parked here and aggressively drive pass buses, even when buses have the right of way and ignore traffic lights.
Many vehicles parked for the entire day blocking the handicapped access ramps and bus stops. Cars usually have placards however the cars are never moved.
Buses often are stuck at this intersection due to the short street that has a traffic light after making any turns in both directions. During afternoon peak hours, commuter van often aggressively cut buses and ignore traffic lights and rules.
Motor Vehicles often ignore this traffic light especially when red during peak hours in the afternoon. Pedestrians often cross this street, but also need to avoid cars that frequently ignore traffic laws and lights. Commuter vans are usually parked in the middle here which will also contribute to the traffic congestion on archer avenue and the bus terminal.
Dangerous crossing for pedestrians.
Sidewalk narrowed too much with big objects placed at either end. Not even enough room for a wheelchair to pass by!
Cars park in bus lane during restricted hours.
Merrick Blvd is already heavily cycled - check the Strava map of Queens. It would be good to add some lanes here to make it safer and calmer
