Drivers here constantly don't yield to pedestrians because they still think it's a highway.

Ideally, we'd have congestion pricing, and better freight management, which would give us the opportunity to tear down the BQE and return it to a street-level boulevard. I know these ideas are out of the scope of this project, but it's important to provide a forward-thinking vision. We can choose the world we want to live in.

There's an awesome opportunity to turn a lot of the space into a pedestrian plaza, green space, public gathering space and to include art work and lighting to make this an accessible asset for all of North Brooklyn!

Meeker Ave under the BQE should have a protected bike path to connect the imminent Kosciuszko Bridge bike path to what should be a protected bike path on Metropolitan Avenue.

Metropolitan Ave - Meeker Ave - Meeker Ave

Metropolitan Ave under the BQE needs a protected bike path to ensure that cyclists going east-west can safely pass through this very dangerous intersection. Please consider jersey barriers to divide motor and cycle traffic.
