Please consider changing the signal timing for the southside of Astoria Blvd for pedestrians. Currently only the north side crosses while the southside waits for westbound cars on Astoria Blvd to turn south on 21st Street. Pedestrians should be allowed to cross before the cars turning south.
I work at the New York Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing at 26-13 21st Street and I see a large group of my colleagues run across both Astoria Blvd and 21st Street to make the Queens Plaza bound Q69/Q100 by the Islamic Center. Please consider implementing simultaneous crossings (parallel, perpendicular and diagonal) so people can make their transfer without risking their lives.
I heard there are considerations on adding a bus lane on 21st street. PLEASE DON'T DO IT. There is already plenty of traffic during busy times, especially when people double park (which is something we can't really stop, as people have to do it). Cutting off a whole lane would just create chaos.
The protected bike lane along Vernon southbound should be continued, as southbound bikers who don't want to go through Queensbridge Park are forced to either ride on the sidewalk or in the street. This stretch of Vernon is narrow and particularly busy, with double-parked cars on both sides.
Q69 stops are too close together and cause buses to make too frequent stops. This is one underutilized stop, with another stop within easy walking distance at 35th Ave.

Drivers regularly run the red at this intersection in both directions, which is especially dangerous since 34th Ave is a pedestrian/bike corridor to Rainey Park.

On weekday mornings (around 8 AM), contractors converge on Grant Supplies - which slows southbound traffic and buses to a crawl. Double-parking on both sides of the street, mid-street u-turns, and jaywalking are common around this time.
