The intersection of Broadway, Vernon Blvd, Socrates Sculpture Park and Costco is an over-complicated mess. There are so many traffic lights and short, disjointed crosswalks that the simple process of crossing the street becomes long, multi-stage process. It seems like the primary goal of this intersection is shuttling cars in and out of Costco, rather than allowing safe public access to the waterfront. At the least, the tiny triangle between Broadway and Vernon and 11th should be merged with Broadway. That would make the intersection simpler and safer to cross.
This bus stop is regularly blocked by private car and taxi drivers.
Buses can slow down quite a bit approaching Broadway.
The kids at IS126 deserve a safer, calmer, less polluting avenue outside their school.
Making a left turn along 21st Street is difficult at best. The speed at which traffic moves and the number of drivers running red lights is dangerous.
The block in Broadway bounded by 21st street and Vernon Blvd. is hazardous for speeding vehicles. The wide ROW with minimal traffic is the perfect area to speed in a dangerous manner.
This intersection has poor timining which causes vehicles to congest into Hoyt Ave North. Congestion is further affected by vehicles exiting from Rt.278.
The block bounded by 33rd Ave and 33rd is notrious for double parking. On street parking is being utilized as a storage area for vehicles being repaired or serviced.
The block bounded by 34th Ave and and 35th Ave is congest due to DSNY truck parked along the southbound side of 21st St. In addition, NYPD has utilized the sidewalk as parking space limiting pedestrian accesibility.
The block bounded by 37th Ave and 39th is notrious for double parking. On street parking is being utilized as a storage area for vehicles being repaired or serviced. It is also important to note that the sidewalk are also being used as storage areas vehicles. There are several abandoned cars along 14th street in front on PS111.
