No signal at this location (or crosswalk) to allow pedestrians to cross 3 Av at 31st St

Frequent freight packing/unpacking on sidewalk narrows pedestrian space and creates conflicts with forklifts. Perhaps widen the sidewalk or add a loading zone?

this is a very poorly designed area for pedestrians. Cars speed into/out of the Home Depot/Jetro lot with little regard for the light. There is also inadequate warning about the ramp where Sanitation trucks come barreling out of the facility.

This sidewalk is very narrow, and makes a dangerous bottleneck where pedestrians and cyclists have to share a tiny strip and could easily lead to someone having to duck into the path of traffic

29th Street is where pedestrians enter or leave the 2nd Avenue stretch of the Greenway. It's totally inhospitable to pedestrians, with cars parked on the sidewalk on the northernern side and the southern side used to serve the MDC. There has to be some way of making this area less treacherous.

The corner of 3rd ave and 60th street continues to be a menace despite multiple DOT improvements. There are two schools there. It’s the most dangerous corner that I have encountered in the city. Over the past 20 years DOT has taken corrective measures. I believe the problem is with Drivers not repecting the signs or lighta at times even the crossing guard I' ve witnessed numerous accidents over the past 20 years. Perhaps installation of red light and speeding cameras In all directions of the intersection may help. Thanks for seeking public comment.

I live within 10 blocks of Industry City and yet never go there because of how incredibly hostile 3rd avenue is to bicycles (my main form of transport). There is NO safe bike infrastructure in this area. The entire avenue is extremely menacing due to high traffic volumes, speeding, and zero safe infrastructure for anyone not in a car.

I strongly encourage DOT to implement the proposed street redesign for 60th street, 2nd avenue, and 1st avenue that would convert these roads to one-way traffic. Any redesign of 3rd avenue should be paired with thoughtful consideration of these one-way street proposals in order to ensure dangerous street conditions do not spill over to/transfer to 1st and 2nd avenue. These roads are chaotic and dangerous for any non-vehicular traffic due to trucks/cars double parked, driving / parking on sidewalks, speeding, and general lack of enforcement of truck size limits and reckless driver behavior. If 3rd avenue loses lanes of traffic, drivers should not be incentivized to bypass it by taking 2nd or 1st Ave and creating dangerous conditions there. 60th street should be converted to a one-way street - it is choked by large trucks double parked, contributes to the dangerous conditions at 60th/3rd Ave, and is adjacent to multiple schools.

3 Ave - 59 St - 60 St

Pedestrians must cross 9 lanes while drivers block the box and fail to yield. Current crossing time is not adequate, so walkers must either try to "cheat" across when light is still red, or risk getting stuck on small medians with trucks whizzing by on each side.

Sidewalk is narrow in this area, and cyclists ride down it really fast, right into oncoming pedestrians.
