Atlantic Ave - Brooklyn Queens Expwy Et 27 Eb - Brooklyn Queens Expwy Et 27 Eb

This area has gotten increasingly dangerous for pedestrians trying to go to or leave Brooklyn Bridge Park. It is a major access point to the neighborhood and/or park, and the cars turning onto the ramp constantly ignore red lights and make it very scary for any pedestrians, especially those with children or those who might have mobility issues and can't cross easily within the allotted pedestrian signal time. The area on Atlantic from Hicks all the way down to Brooklyn Bridge Park could use vast improvements for pedestrian safety.

Noise and pollution is terrible in this corner of brooklyn where there is no promenade.

The noise and air pollution is terrible for children playing in this park. Ideally the BQE would go underground or be covered.

Since the lane reduction the noise and traffic are horrible. People drive like manias. No one stops at light. People drive over 50 mph and on wrong side of street. Police do nothing. You have a made no effort at all to mitigate traffic. If fewer got off to try to go around traffic and didn’t get back on at atlantic would be better for all. Waze sends them here. Stop the left turn from Atlantic to BQE and would be much better. But you don’t really care about people on Columbia st. So you won’t do anything. Have you ever spent any time here? Have You seen what happens. Of course not. This is all a charade. Pathetic.

I second (and third and fourth) all the comments about the light timing here and pedestrian concerns here due to vehicles running the red or turning into the intersection that is already jammed up and blocking the whole street.

Somehow a big truck got down Warren and then tried to turn right onto Hicks. It completely drove over a car-just check out the What is New York instagram for a great video. We need better signage and better google maps during construction and the temporary detours to keep trucks from bypassing the BQE into the small streets.

Big trucks (particularly Amazon delivery trucks) have been trying to get around the traffic and coming down court and then even trying to turn down these small streets like Warren. One got stuck and leaked hydraulic fluid; it was left in the bus stop overnight.

Direct exit ramp from the brooklyn bridge onto the BQE would remove highway traffic from our local streets on Tillary & cadman plaza You can get on the bridge directly from the BQE going into manhattan but cant exit from the bridge directly to the BQE going into brooklyn. why would a Major bridge empty out onto local streets. The BQE should be directly connected in both directions to the bridge.

Restore the 3rd lane between Atlantic Ave and Cadman Plaza to allow traffic to flow. The lane reduction has caused immense congestion and pollution to the surrounding blocks.

Really unsafe pedestrian crossing here (Congress/Hicks). There are tons of cars, and they always sit in traffic blocking the crosswalks here. Many drivers also run the lights.
