Brooklyn Queens Expressway - Brooklyn Queens Ep Et 32 A Wb - Brooklyn Queens Ep Et 32 B Wb

This area under the BQE is so unbelievably filthy and pedestrians are constantly in fear of the army of rats, the unhinged drivers and the unrelenting noise and pollution. The drivers have become more dangerous/angry/dismissive of traffic rules every year. It's an awful place and anything that could be done to improve it, starting with prioritizing public transportation, pedestrians, and bikes should be attempted.

Brooklyn Queens Expressway - Bqe Westbound Entrance Sands St - Bqe Exit 29 Westbound

Drivers in this area who use exit lanes/shoulders to illegally " beat traffic" are the root cause of traffic. Enforce this area. Use cameras to enforce. Use lane separation. Make driving safe again.

Brooklyn Queens Expressway - Bqe Wb En Williamsburg St W - Bqe Exit 29 Westbound

This area should be enforced. There is constantly drivers who continue past the exit only lane traveling on 278W on the shoulder. This creates a dangerous situation to both the cars traveling legally on 278W beyond exit 29, as well as the drivers entering 278W on the on ramp. Drivers trying to "beat traffic" are the reason for traffic. Enforce the area. Include barriers between exit lane and traveling lane.

Exit 31 on 278W and the area around it must be studied as traffic from the exit into the surrounding area creates an unsafe condition on the exit lane. Cars merging over the shoulder and exiting pose a danger to cars in the exit lane, and create a tense situation which often leads to aggravated driving and an opportunity for violence. Enforce this area and address the root of the issue which is traffic flow beyond the exit.

Williamsburg St West - Bedford Ave - Keap St

The exit only lane for exit 31 on 278W is constantly backed up which leads to cars double and triple merging at the last minute. The area should be monitored by law enforcement in the short term, but requires a thought out solution to allow for traffic to flow off the exit and in the surrounding area without causing a back up

Put the entire BQE in the east river. Make the area that was the BQE into Parks, bike routes, and deeply affordable housing

This area of the BQE should be covered and completely underground. This area badly needs public park infrastructure and one way to get that is to reclaim space from roads.

This section of the BQE should be underground. A sub-terrain highway would open this area up for desperately needed greenspace redevelopment.
