The Queens-bound lane reduction north of Atlantic Ave. and the Verrazzano-bound lane reduction at the Tillary Street exit have filled the local streets of neighborhoods far and wide. Your BQE Central presentation says that traffic has slowed 30-50%. The reconstruction of the triple cantilever should include the restoration of all the lanes so that residents near to and far from the BQE have peace restored to their streets.

Please cover this section of the BQE. It is incredibly loud, very polluted, and hideous.

Pedestrian

Hicks St - Congress St - Warren St

This pedestrian crossing is unsafe. Drivers always stop across the crosswalks here trying to make the light and walkers have to walk in the middle of the road to get around them. This needs better enforcement and a safer design.

Bike

Court St - Butler St - Douglass St

There is no protected or safe bike lane south into Cobble Hill/Carroll Gardens past Amity St. The Hoyt bike lane is always blocked so it is useless. Please add better bike infrastructure going south into Cobble Hill/Carroll Gardens/Red Hook.

The entry/exit ramps to the BQE here are very dangerous for pedestrians. This is a main access point to Brooklyn Bridge Park – the crossings here for walkers could be so much safer.

We need more waterfront recreation space.

Make the right lane a straight and right turn lane (except for express buses and large vehicles with wide left turns). Make the left lane a left turn only lane.

You have done nothing to try to make it better. I have no safe route to get to Clark st subway. You’ve created a disaster on hicks and Atlantic, AND at the entrance to BQE from Atlantic. I am truly afraid every time that I go to subway that I won’t survive. I have a mobility issue and the drivers don’t care. I have had multiple close calls. But I have no alternative. If you haven’t walked on Hicks from Congress recently you should. And you should do it with a cane. Or try walking east on Atlantic from Columbia when you can’t run. You will fear for your life. But you don’t care. Has anyone of you tried to walk here. Of course not.

This area to get onto the BQE from Columbia and Hicks is extremely dangerous and aggressive. People have no regard for other driver's safety, pedestrian safety or rules of the road being on the correct lanes to access the BQE. This area needs stricter lane control and single direction traffic signal sequencing.

Traffic here is pretty dangerous for bikes. Frequent parking in the bike lane especially between 17th street and prospect avenue.
