The noise and pollution from the BQE really adversely affect quality of life here, and crossing hicks is very unsafe. Covering the trench with a green space would make a tremendous difference.
Stop allowing freight to coming through here!
Something needs to be done about the entrance from the Prospect Expressway to the BQE. It can be dangerous to impossible to cross 4 lanes of heavy/speeding traffic to get to the lane for the HCTunnel.
North bound traffic in between Hamilton and Atlantic is the worst traffic I have ever been in. I can’t leave my neighborhood some days
The entrance to the BQE south at Prospect Avenue and 3rd Avenue needs to be redesigned. Currently, traffic (cars and trucks) is entering the one lane entrance from 7 lanes. The are 2 lanes from 3rd avenue heading north, 2 lanes from Prospect Avenue, 1 from 3rd avenue heading south, 1 from 15th street and 1 from 14th street heading south. These creates a bottle neck and gridlock in both the morning and evening rush hour the impacts the entire area. First There needs to be a ramp directly from the Prospect expressway to the BQE heading south. Second, there needs to be an on ramp to the BQE north bound before the Prospect and 3rd avenue intersections on 3rd Avenue.
Add a land bridge with a park over the cobble hill trench, turning the BQE into a tunnel. Capping the trench would change the lives of residents currently living with continual noise and pollution, and add more open space for those visiting the waterfront and park piers.
The traffic from the BQE exit here frequently causes gridlock that greatly slows down the B61 bus, which is the sole bus connection for the neighborhoods south of here.
The traffic on this stretch of the BQE is horrendous and has been since the highway has been dropped to two lanes. The constant stand still has also caused an increase in aggravated drivers, those speeding through lights in local neighborhoods etc.
Turn the area currently used for parking under BQE into EV charging stations!
There are no curb cuts in the cobblestone at this intersection, forcing people in wheelchairs or with carts to push to walk on the roadway. Also, the cobblestones are in disrepair in many of these areas under the BQE, creating trip hazards.
