The DOT manual for this project design hasn’t any options for construction, plumber or electrician trucks that would absolutely be needed to park in front of these tired 130 year old landmarked buildings in this North Crown Heights historic District to keep them in working order. Your accompanying pictures in the manual only show new modern buildings !? We need to have an opportunity to use the street for maintaining these structures that house a lot of elderly as well as a growing number of cyclists.

I live on Dean street between Rogers and Nostrand Ave. what I’m wondering about regarding the planning of this bike blvd is Will there be access for residents of our block to have workers unload material for the maintenance of our buildings? These are old brownstones and not all of us have the financing to do a whole renovation at once. We do jobs every year or so and we Ned materials. Will there be access for vans, trucks for residents to maintain their buildings? Will there be parking available on the block for residents? Can an elderly person be picked up or dropped off at their building? I don’t mind the slowing down of the traffic. Nor do I mind the lessening of traffic on the block. But will the needs of the block’s residents regarding vehicles on their block be considered?

The bike lane as it is , is great. I use it. However I also live on the block and wish to request speed bumps on the sidewalks to discourage cycling by those who feel entitled to avoid the bike lane. I’m serious when I say put a speed bump on the sidewalks to discourage those who lack empathy for the elderly of this community. NO bike boulevard is needed. What’s needed is a policy to educate the cyclists.

I’m the owner of a historic building that needs regular repairs and renovations as I am able to finance since I cannot do a one shot guy renovation. There are many of long term residents here with the same problems: where to park our truck to drop off supplies. You want these buildings brought up to your ever increasing demands for habitability yet your new proposal for this bike boulevard makes no allowance for this situation. This is a reality of urbanization that building have to be maintained with the help of local electric a, plumbers, carpenter etc who cannot walk thier materials from two or blocks away from the address. This current bike lane only needs tolerance from cyclists for the reality of an imperfect world. Bike lanes are like any other lane in that they are sometimes blocked

The bike lanes are totally fine and do not need redesign. What needs to be done is strictly enforcing blocking the bike lanes. Also, the bike lane buffer is on different side of the bike lane on different blocks. Maybe narrower buffers on both sides of the bike lane is a better solution. The. Underhill bike boulevard is absolutely idiotic. It's a mess with two way/ one way traffic alternating is confusing, the pots in the middle of the street are useless and take up parking space. The speed can be calmed down with bumps and red lights. Simple.

Frequent speeding on Dean. It is used by drivers as an alternative to Atlantic, and drivers often are impatient, frustrated, and dangerous, letting out their frustration by speeding. Dean should have traffic calming measures that discourage this behavior

Barclays center is constantly blocking the bike lane with barriers, crowds, vehicles. If they require that much street space it should have been designed that way. In that case there shouldn’t be any thru vehicle traffic on this block. The parking garage should be shut down.

For cyclists, this is a very long wait especially since crossing 5th and Flatbush require waiting at two lights. There are often long gaps without car traffic due to light patterns so cyclists often have to dash across 5th to save several minutes on their journey.
