This bicycle project is a badvidea. A number of pedestrians have already been injured due to the bike lane. When you drive down Court and make a left onto a side street the parked cars block thecability to see the bike lane. This is an accident waiting to happen. NYPD does not police the bike lane. I have seen e-bijes and mopeds using the bike lane. This is very dangerous. There is traffic congestion in this area due to TradercJoe and other stores. Another problem is buses. With just one lane of traffic congestion is constant. The business district is suffering from this bicycle lane set up. The entire project should be shelved.

My husband and I have lived on this block of Dean Street since the mid 1970's. Now that we are in our 70's and 80's and living with mobility issues, ready accessibility to our home is more important than ever. Walking even an extra block or two is very difficult for us. Parking on the block has become increasingly difficult and sometimes using a taxi for local trips has become a reality for us. Being able to drive down the block to unload groceries or park nearby is very important to us. During the last 50 years there has always been (and continues to be) renovations and deliveries that required dumpsters, moving vans and large trucks to have ready access to the block. Double parking is a constant necessity making car and bike navigation difficult at best. While we love the idea of increasing bike usage to relieve car traffic, we have seen that the majority of bike traffic does not stay in the bike lanes and zoom right through the intersections without even slowing down. Over the years, I have personally witnessed several bad accidents and many near collisions.

A fully protected bike blvd would be ideal, there’s already more bikes than cars on the road during rush hour, it would be so much safer for everyone involved.

Please improve this section for pedestrians. Crossing Bedford and Rogers is incredibly dangerous. Slow down traffic, protect pedestrians, add extended curbs, improve visibility and make everything less horrible for those of us that LIVE THERE!
