Adding my voice to several comments I already see: this street is horribly, horribly torn up with construction. It's quite unsafe to bike on as the potholes and construction equipment force cyclists to mix in with cars. Has been like this for what feels like more than a year.
This can be a scary intersection as a pedestrian, especially walking west. Cars whip around the corner taking the left from Dean to head north on Bedford, through the crosswalk. There were recently some improvements made that made it a bit better, but it's still rough. Some kind of traffic slowing (speed bump? something else?) would be great.
There's often cars double-parked on this block and speeding as well, which makes it feel unsafe to bike. A protected bike lane would be a great help for cycling safety and could help motorists as well by separating bikers from the part of the street where cars drive.
Lots of double parking here during sports events. Forces drivers into the bike lane.
There is barely enough parking as it stands. If more is taken away than permitted parking aggressively enforced must be required. Not everyone is an owner here who can afford $500 parking lots.
B65 Buses often get stuck at the stoplight here. Please do not forget about bus riders even though this is a Bike Boulevard project.
I am in favor of the Bike Boulevard. Let's envision a New York with fewer cars! It will be quieter, cleaner, and safer. We'll live with less climate disorder. Let's do it!
Please do not remove any more street parking. Street parking on Dean Street is already limited and the street is shared with a bus route, as well as a bike lane already existing.
Cut through traffic on Clinton street is out of control. Cars use it in order to avoid traffic on the BQE trench section, which quickly clogs this single-lane residential road. This road was never designed to see this much traffic, and drivers have no regard for pedestrians and cyclists. Traffic calming measures are needed to reduce the amount of cut through traffic, making it safer for pedestrians, cyclists, and especially children who often make use of Cobble Hill park.
High traffic from busses, cars and trucks. Especially high traffic during events at Barclay’s and on Friday and Saturday nights.
