The driving lanes and bike lanes here get wonky block-to-block here and don't line up as you go through intersections creating very dangerous driving and biking conditions

I love the Bergen and Dean bike boulevards proposal and want to emphasis that fully protected lanes like on Bedford going north from Dean St make the most difference in riding experience. The amount more relaxed I am and the capacity to bike with someone else and just not be as stressed is amazing. Having a East West Fully protected lane would be huge! I just wanted to also emphasis that there is no equivalent South Bound Fully protected Lane in this area and Franklin would probably be the best place for one. Currently people just ride their bikes the wrong way down Bedford in the fully protected wide bike lane because its better then the fake paint bike lane on franklin. Also Bedford below Dean turns into the fake paint bike lanes.

Cars trucks and delivery bikes speed constantly, zooming past bikers, sometimes way too close to bike lane

Vehicles, bikes and micromobility vehicles all this run light traveling south on grand, and makes crossing grand particularly unsafe because cars are often parked on grand at the northwest corner of grand amd dean, creating a block to bikers sightings as they travel east through the intersection

Vehicles often double park along the park on the Southside of this block, resulting in cars travelling east on Dean swerving in and out of bike lane while also speeding trying to get ahead of bikers instead of safely sharing the reduced available roadspace

Cars turning right onto 5th ave travelling south often run light at dean, endangering bikers on dean when their light turns green

Crossing Atlantic is a big road to cross with not much time for a greenlight, and because there is often double parked cars on the next block right next to Barclay center, so often need to merge into car lane mid-intersection to avoid vehicles parked in the bike lanes ahead

Terrible with double parkers and illegally parked personal vehicles from the firestation. The lanes are always obstructed, frequently from both left and right sides of the street.

St Marks Avenue could be a good choice for a two-way bike boulevard. St Marks between Kingston and Schenectady Avenues already has some of the treatments that Bike Boulevards typically use to filter out vehicular traffic. There's been no car or truck through traffic on the St. Marks "superblock" (btwn Kingston & Albany) since the 1970's. And the two blocks east of this (through the Albany Houses parking lot and the path through St. Johns Park) also allow through traffic for bikes and pedestrians only. Consider looking beyond just Dean & Bergen to make more of what already exists here.
