Put 3 no parking, loading only spaces in front of the Bergen Condos. This should be reserved for uber/lyft/taxi drop off and pickup, and other delivery and not space for parking. With no loading zone here there is often double parked vehicles or delivery trucks blocking the street and then traffic backs up and selfish car and truck drivers blast their horns disrupting life for everyone who lives nearby. A loading zone here would solve this problem. Also close bergen from being a truck route, and move the buses over to atlantic.

Don't let cars go down this road. Make it bike and pedestrian only between flatbush and 5th. Rework the paving to tripple the width of each sidewalk, give the businesses there outdoor space, make this a permanent change. This street could be so cool if it was a plaza instead of a road.

Close the left hand turn lane for cars. Turn the lane space into an island for pedestrians or bikes who are crossing the street. Add plants to this space as well (ideally a tree for shade). Closing this left lane will allow you to rework the traffic lights so vehicles going straight will have more time to get through the light. It will help reduce traffic jams on 4th. It will also reduce auto traffic on Bergen.

This is a residential block and can't possibly be used as a bike boulevard, a truck route, an emergency vehicle route, and now TWO bus routes. The traffic constantly backs up and stuck buses and double-parked cars mean that people just lean on their horns or bike bells, disrupting residents trying to work or sleep. Taking parking away will not fix the traffic and will only mean that residents don't have anywhere to even pull over to unload families or groceries. Many of these need to be routed to a commercial street like Atlantic or a two-way street like Union Street.

Truly the worst section for riding a bike on Dean. Just terribly paved. Creating a boulevard needs to take into account how the road is designed and paved for cyclists and how each type of traffic on that road affects (and costs) the paved sections. (Cars have a high impact to a paved surface in comparison to bikes or pedestrians, resulting in a higher cost of maintenance overall).

I love the idea of a bike boulevard this is really fantastic for the Brooklyn and New York. I would love to make sure that we also consider our Transit friends as well, and make sure that they is also priority for folks who use the bus daily. Creating a bike boulevard shouldn't also come at a loss of transit priority on these routes. My suggestion would be to bikes to have priority and dedicated bus traffic well (in respective directions). Remove street parking completely to allow the expansion of the road. And additionally, I would love to see the sidewalks accomodated to meet the redesign of the street for a bike boulevard. Pedestrians, Transit users, bike users all benefits from the boulevards and care should be take to ensure there is a benefit across to all those.

Don't be shy; convert kingston+throop and brooklyn+tompkins into parking protected bike lanes!!!
