There is frequently lots of illegal and disorganized parking around the Dean Playground — particularly when sports events are going on. There should be physical barriers to illegally parking around the edges of the playground and park here to ensure that it is open to the street.

the transitions between bergen/dean and the protected 4th ave bike lane probably need to be hardened. it feels like most days when I turn from bergen onto the southbound 4th ave bike lane, I have to bike in the street for the first block because the entrance to the bike lane is blocked by an idling truck or van (the constant construction along 4th also makes this worse)

Even before the current construction, the intersection of Carlton and Dean (combined with the frequent double-parking for loading just north of it and the curb cut just west of it) was disorganized and unclear for bicycles, lacking the space for bikes that an intersection with this much traffic should have. A bike box, pedestrian refuges, and daylighting should be added to all four corners of this intersection.

Vehicles traveling southbound along 6th Ave are almost always blocking the crosswalks and bike lanes in addition to the 'box' here. Pedestrians and cyclists have to weave their way across 6th to reach the subway entrance. There's no substantial daylighting on the west side of 6th.

The overly-wide cross section of Bergen just west of Flatbush leads to vehicles double-parking and parking on the 'inside' (NW corner) even though it is signed as no standing / no parking. This causes turning vehicles from Flatbush to swing wide into the bike lane, then getting stuck behind traffic waiting for the light at 5th. (I think this problematic right turn is being removed as part of the bus priority project though). The NSA on the south side of Bergen should be repurposed once this turn ban is imposed, and the space should be reused to allow deliveries without blocking the bike lane, which could then be realigned to flow better across Flatbush.

The west end of the Bergen St bike lane doesn't have clear cycling routes further west. There's neither signage nor logical protected routing down to the Brooklyn Waterfront Greenway. Bicycle users should be given a clear logical (protected) path to reach, for example, Brooklyn Bridge Park without going via Red Hook

this intersection always feels scary as its not protected and theres a ton of traffic, but its necessary if you're heading south over here. id love more protection here.

there are always cars sitting in the bike lane here, makes it really hard to see whats around the corner on atlantic and filtering seems hectic here with road conditions.
