Pedestrian

Woodruff Ave - Ocean Ave - East 21 St

We need a leading pedestrian light at this intersection, because both E-W streets must turn onto Ocean here, and there is a Subway exit from which many people need to cross the street. Often the B12 bus drivers turn aggressively and dangerously here into pedestrians crossing the street.

Clarkson Ave - Woodruff Ave - Bedford Ave

This stretch of Clarkson suddenly becomes one lane, one-way after a long stretch of being a wider street. There are constantly ambulances coming from the hospital through this block, blaring sirens (every 30 minutes at least) and trying to force cars to push through the red light at Flatbush or else sitting in traffic blaring at the houses around. It is disrespectful to the block and the ambulance dispatchers need to vary their routes or turn off their sirens when it's clear traffic isn't going to move.

East Drive - South Lake Drive - Ocean Ave

There is no safe way to travel East from the Park from this point. There is no bike lane from the park along Parkside and the B12 drives like it wants to kill everyone. Getting back home (only two blocks east, at Flatbush and Clarkson) feels death-defying every ride.

East 18 St - Caton Ave - Church Ave

This corner could be improved with a sidewalk bump out. Currently there is not enough space for pedestrians crossing to the Church Av subway station. Crosswalks are often blocked by cars. This corner also has an issue with drainage, there is usually standing water all around. So a sidewalk bump out and a proper sewer connection would be great. Thanks so much

Public Space

Flatbush Ave - Grand Army Plaza Oval - East Drive

Multiple RVs along this stretch of Flatbush between the park and the botanic garden with people living in them full-time. Also, they use highly polluting generators to produce power.

Freight
Freight
Flatbush Ave - Grand Army Plaza Oval - East Drive

Freight trucks park on Flatbush within the zebra stripes (buffer zones), which creates a hazard for the bicycle lanes.

Illegal Parking
Illegal Parking
Church Ave - St Pauls Pl - Ocean Ave

Everyone and everything are constantly double parking triple parking, making illegal u turns that just stop traffic completely. It's ridiculous

East 19 St - Church Ave - Deadend

This dead end streets never gets cleaned. There is constant public urination and defecation on this dead end street.

Tennis Court - East 19 St - Ocean Ave

There is no crosswalk for people to use to safely cross Ocean Avenue. I see people walking across Ocean. The close croswalks are 5+ minutes in each direction.

Public Transit
Public Transit
Avenue H - Nostrand Ave - Flatbush Ave

The transfer from the B103 to Q35 is fairly convenient now. If the B103 is shortened, there will be no good connection from the west part of brooklyn, unless the Q35 is extended north to the B35 or B16.
