Giant potholes have been creeping up around here this year in between the car lanes. Dangerous for bikes cruising through or turning onto the street.
Love the plan for making fast busses. A little concerned though how emergency vehicles like police, ambulances, and firestrucks will negotiate any cement barriers and traffice since they tend to heavily use oncoming lanes and such. Though see a lot of pros like maybe aggressive drivers won't go full throttle in coming lanes here which has been a bit sketchy crossing the street.
Ha you know what you need to do here. Clearly good plan unfinished. So excited for this protected bike lane flowing through ocean ave or somehow coming onto flatbush.
Bikelane going south is a bit sketchy, too narrow. Been a couple incidences where cars in both directions are negotiating a parked car or something sticking out on the road and they eat into the bikeline. Never had a problem going north for some reason. Bike lane is also a little rough in places.
Crossing from the east corner to the west corner. Often drivers will be suprised at pedenstrians and come in hot! I think because the crosswalk is angled to account for the garage. The cross walk should be more visible to drivers turning from Lincon onto flatbush. My suggestion would be paint it so the crosswalk end on both the left and right side of the garage. going from the south to north corner is a little sketchy too. Road is too wide and vechles turning from going sounth on flatbush onto leffts get angry at you if you intterup them.
The vendors on this street never cause a problem, are not in the way and are always respectful.
Crossing with the light can be really dangerous during run hour. Multiple cars will sometimes use the oncoming lane at full throttle to pass cars and make a left turn form Lincoln Rd onto flatbush. I've had to jump back a few times a pedestrian headed south after I started crossing with the pedestrian signal. It's been a lot better since you shortend the light duration for these turning cars. Most people just got used to not making it I think but the aggressive drivers a nuts here. I often cross mid block where leaving the subway and feel it's often safer than the light. One thing there's so much conjection with double parking and bus traffic that I'm surprised this isn't a one way road traveling towards the park.

Remove the vehicular parking lane from the west side of the triangle at Bedford Avenue between Dean and Bergen streets (Grant Gore) to expand and improve the open space. Expanded space could be used for seating and for public art created by local artists as proposed in the AAMUP Community Vision and Priorities report- August 2023
