You can't go 30 minutes without a dollar van, or multiple dollar vans, running the red light at Flatbush at Linden. Incredibly unsafe for pedestrians and this is a major crossing for young children going to the library on Linden
This is one of the busiest intersections in Brooklyn, bikes, cars, the subway station, a major entrance to the park, and it's totally neglected. There should be more trees/trashcans and an update to the subway station. Clear signage and pathways for bikes are needed at this intersection as it's one of the most dangerous spots for bike riders. More city sanitation attention needed.
A wonderful new accessible option for Church Ave has been put in but there are NO signs! We need signs along the outside of the station to find the accessible entrance
This is where the bike lane spits cyclists into the sidewalk which is dangerous for everyone, especially because of the downhill. I wish the right hand turn lane from Flatbush Ave southbound was removed and the bike lane continued at least to that point, and that a protected lane be provided for bikes while construction is ongoing.
The approach into Grand Army Plaza from the south on Flatbush Avenue is very blind for bikes. There are two pedestrian crossings, one to the bus island and one to cross from the park side to the library side, that are not visible until the downhill is hit. This would ordinarily be fine if not for the fact that priority is very unclear with these crosswalks--pedestrians often cross when they do not have the light, and even more dangerously, the red and green lights for cars entering the plaza are opposite to what bikes should follow, as crossing pedestrians . I wish a bike-specific traffic light would be installed where the bike lane and crosswalk towards the library meet so that bikes are following the same light cycle as the cars coming out of the plaza towards Flatbush Ave southbound, so that this bike-pedestrian conflict is fixed.
Implement daylighting next to the supermarket to improve visibility for pedestrians. It's hard to see the cyclists coming with huge SUVs parked right next to the pedestrian crossing. Just look at the image in this map location - it's insane. Do something!
Add neckdowns to improve pedestrian safety on Bedford Avenue!
More trees and bus shelters in Bedford Avenue!
I would very much prefer the B49 bus to be moved away from Bedford as proposed by the MTA and allow for a fully protected bike lane connection with Eastern Parkway
I know this is a state truck route, but 24/7 trucks is getting out of hand, is there traffic calming or daytime use only that could be put into effect?
