Trucks (including illegal 53' trucks) park on Flatbush between Empire Blvd and Grand Army Plaza for hours on end
The B41 frequently gets stuck on Flatbush Ave because there's so much traffic
Hello, I'm sad to hear that the B103 is not being kept in the redesign process. I LOVE this bus, it offers a fast and efficient way to get from south Brooklyn to downtown Brooklyn. Thinking about "Fast and Free" busses, this is one of the only busses I've ever had a positive experience on and it would be a shame to remove a line thats working so well. Traveling on the highway means less traffic and more expedient routes, it is really the model the platform should be following, not doing away with.
there are a boatload of schools and children in this area that all like to cycle together - maple should be a protected bike lane
there are always giant 18 wheelers double parked or parked in the bike lane here or just on the steret and it makes me uncomfortable
it seems crazy to me that we have a protected bike lane going north on bedford but nothing going south - franklin street would make a lot of sense to make protected as a southbound route connecting williamsburg, bedstuy, crown heights, and prospect park
why doesnt the bedford bike lane connect to eastern parkway here? we should be building a connected network of protected bike lanes, not random stretches of it. for folks traveling north, this would be an incredible unlock to connect our neighborhoods together.
i see lots of kids in the neighborhood biking here - on the sidewalk, in the street - i think the downhill makes it more fun for them (vs. on kingston where its uphill) - and i love to see that. but i want to make sure that they're kept safe if they're in the street - protected bike lanes would be good here.
there seems to be lots of locally sanctioned illegal parking here - which seems silly - if the community needs special parking for certain vehicles, the city should accomodate - but that should mean creating safer streets with proven tactics as well.
its insane that pedestrians can't even feel safe on the sidewalk when cars speed over the curb and literally kill new yorkers. we need to enforce better vehicle safety policies yesterday. we cant keep seeing our neighbors be killed by cars.
