St Marks Ave - Rogers Ave - Nostrand Ave

This pertains to all of St Marks Ave between, really, Vanderbilt and Nostrand. This exceptionally wide avenue feels like such an underutilized space for both pedestrians and bicyclists. Given the width of the road and the lack of bus routes requiring infrastructure, this avenue could serve as a major east/west biking artery with completely protected dual-direction bike lanes without even sacrificing parking or car access. It would be great to see raised and protected biking lanes, similar to dutch design, and could even introduce tree and wildflower or rain garden hardscaping in areas that are currently just asphalt. Yes, Bergen and Dean both have bike lanes but those are busy thoroughfares with buses and bikes are forced to weave in and out of traffic because of double parked cars. St Marks feels like it presents an amazing opportunity for world-class urban design.

I would love to be able to bike home from prospect park with my family safely. but eastern parkway is the only protected bike lane this far east in brooklyn. we need better north or south connections like throop-kingston

it is a real shame that folks in eastern brooklyn aren't allowed the same investment to bike lanes the way that western brooklyn is. many folks try to "follow the bike network" to get to eastern parkway to be on a safe protected cycling greenway, but because tompkins/brooklyn isnt protected, it isnt safe to do so

theres always double parking here, and it ruins any travel through here. auto body shops should not be able to take over our streets.

if i had to pick one single place in brooklyn where i could guarantee you would find double parking it would be here. I have literally never not seen at least two cars double parked in the bike lane coming through here. it makes you wonder what the point of a bike lane even is if a car is going to park in it.

I love biking to Brower park and I wish it was safer - the park is a great place to bike on the weekend and I want it to be easier - especially with the children's museum there.

When im heading back home, riding east on my bike, this turn on to Throop/Kingston always makes me nervous because of how many double parked cars there are on this stretch of Kingston. I wish the bike lanes here were protected.

This is a very important intersection to me because if I need to travel west on my bike into the city, I turn of of Tompkins to Bergen, but because neither of these bike lanes are protected or well marked, this is a dangerous place.
