the B12 bus gets stuck in traffic when turning from Woodruff onto Ocean, almost always getting stuck in the crosswalk. Its impossible to cross when a giant bus cannot make the turn radius from a small residential street.
The B12 should not run on Clarkson Ave - its too small a street for bus traffic. The bus is constantly stuck at the intersection of Clarkson and Flatbush, and later on Woodruff.
Illegal trucks use Parkside Ave to avoid traffic on Linden Blvd after exiting 27. They should not be driving here. Parkside Ave is not a truck route.
Parkside Ave between Flatbush and Ocean should be a pedestrian plaza with bus only lane. Cut off traffic and make it an accessible place to spend time - which it already is, just packed and crowded with no space for pedestrians.
The supermarket has a recycling center right on the sidewalk - which means its always dirty, covered in trash, with homeless people trying to recycle. The recycling center should not be placed directly on an incredibly busy pedestrian section
This crosswalk connects two of Brooklyn's most incredible public resources -- Prospect Park and BBG -- and yet has to be one of the most dangerous crosswalks in the city. CAR BLOW THROUGH RED LIGHTS ON FLATBUSH WITH NO ENFORCEMENT and right here especially.
Constant loitering by drug dealers who take up both parking and sidewalk space and regularly harass passersby. Illegally parked van selling illegal goods is a permanent fixture.
The stretch of Flatbush between Lincoln and Midwood is essentially lawless. Red lights are routinely ignored by vehicles, scooters and e-bikes, constant narrow-misses with pedestrians who have the right of way. The already-illegal dollar vans are the WORST offenders. I have captured all of this on video and shared with local reps and received a shrug.There is NEVER enforcement of any kind on this stretch of Flatbush.
Seconding the comments made here about the large group of loitering drug dealers who take up residence, complete with furniture, on this corner all day, operating out of an illegally parked dollar van. They (often a group of up to 12) block the sidewalk and harass passerby (especially women) literally all day.
This mid-block crossing outside of Flatbush Bagel is extremely, extremely dangerous -- it's often blocked by cars, but more importantly THE NUMBER OF CARS DISREGARDING THIS LIGHT IS TERRIFYING. At least once a day -- I have video -- I encounter a car or dollar van absolutely blasting through a hard-red and nearly hitting people in the crosswalk street. Someone has to evaluate the danger of cars and vans running red lights in this section of Flatbush Ave.
