Another terrible intersection where all types of motor vehicles and pedestrians are in constant conflict, cars block crosswalks, and cars double park. Get rid of the left turn lanes here and put some daylight and physical barriers.
All of Newkirk Ave. would be amazing to turn into a linear Park, like 34th Ave in Queens. We are just so desperate for a public Park in our neighborhood.
prioritizing buses helps get to these locations more quickly. As a bus rider I deserve buses that aren't slow, irregular, or stuck behind traffic.
Very challenging to cycle on this stretch of Parkside bc of car traffic congestion and double parked cars.

Cars are always parking in the no standing zone here I. The right turn only lane. It causes major car backups bc there’s no way to turn right when the right turn arrow light is on. You have to basically use the left lane (intended for going straight South on Ocean Ave) and then illegally turn right against the light. Dangerous of cars, pedestrians and cyclists.
empire is a very wide road. Enough for bus lanes to speed up buses.
It is very difficult to make a right turn onto Parkside when heading south on Ocean Ave. There is a designated right turn lane and light which is very important for pedestrian safety at this busy intersection. However the right lane is often blocked by illegally parked cars which backs up traffic, and I've often seen frustrated drivers turning against the light.
