3rd Avenue Corridor Safety Study

NYC DOT hosted two in-person workshops in April 2023 where community members had the opportunity to give feedback on their concerns regarding traffic safety on 3rd Ave and their top priorities for safety improvements. Common themes included issues with speeding, pedestrian crossings (long crossings, enough time to cross) lighting, and public space. Popular toolkit solutions included road diets, signal timing improvements, median extensions, curb extensions, lighting, public space improvements, and bike lanes.

DOT plans to host a virtual public workshop in July 2023 to give community members another chance to participate.
