Doctors Office , Parking and Pharmacies with a library down the street. I understand its tough to add a stop between Two Subway Stations, but this one should absolutely be on the list. Thanks !!!
I alot of times get late to school because the B6 comes late. The bus needs +sbs on the route along with the B82
The B6 Limited ( future SBS) needs to be rerouted at Linden Blvd./Ashford Street to no longer serve IRT Subway but instead the B6SBS should take Linden Blvd. east to Cross Bay Blvd. and serve Cross Bay Blvd. , Aqueduct (Aqueduct Racetrack & Aqueduct Conduit Stations within Resorts Parking lots) and then JFK Airport via Cross Bay Blvd., Rockaway Blvd. or Linden Blvd. (Queens) into Rockaway Blvd, Racino Entrance Aqueduct Road/a/k/a Race Track Road from Aqueduct Racino then into JFK Airport. B6 local buses would then be extended from Rockaway Parkway to serve New Lots Avenue IRT #3 Subway Station for local residents.
These turns right here are the bane for B6 SBS. Coupled with multiple buses arriving together and the crowd the buses get stuck in traffic going eastbound. While the westbound buses still stuck in traffic are empty playing tag as they go down the rest of the line.Maybe rerouting the B6 +SBS+ would be a better idea cause this would kill any time saved from the rest of the project.
Looking at the Flatlands Avenue corridor, all of the LIMITED bus stops need to be transformed into SBS Stations where Off Board Fare Collection is available. I would strongly suggest a new B81 SBS from Coney Island to Ozone Park (Rockaway Blvd (A) Station) and a new B85 SBS from Bay Ridge to JFK Airport (mainly to assist the B15) as a means to replace both the B6 LIMITED and the B82 LIMITED, and to improve transit access in Southern Brooklyn. The B81 SBS would arrive every 3 to 5 minutes during the day and every 5 to 6 minutes during Evenings with most service operating along the B6 corridor (every 3 to 8 minutes during the day and every 10 to 12 minutes during Evenings). Local service along both the B6 (Bensonhurst to East New York) and B82 (Coney Island to Starret City) are maintained from end to end. The B85 SBS would arrive every 5 to 10 minutes throughout the day between Bay Ridge and JFK Airport along the B6 corridor (via Flatbush Junction) and every 30 minutes during Late Nights.
The B6 is a high frequency route which services the Flatbush Junction, however I would be more in favor of a B82 SBS than a B6 SBS for the simple reason that Kings Highway and Flatlands Avenue are wider corridors to where bus lanes can be put in place, while Bay Parkway doesn't have too many traffic problems, and the corridors in the Flatbush areas are too narrow for bus lanes.
Traffic jams are often caused by motorists double parking at or around the Yeshiva and Touro College. Instituting a pick up/drop off (or kiss & ride) zone on both sides of Avenue J between East 16th and 17th Streets during the AM and PM peaks will help to clear up the roadway and keep buses on schedule.
Eastbound buses often depart overcrowded during most hours of the day. More service is needed between Midwood and Canarsie, especially during the evenings.
The B6 Limited needs to make Limited Stops past Coney Island Avenue along Bay Parkway. Majority of these buses during the daytime hours make every single stop along Bay Parkway. The Limited should only serve McDonald Avenue, 60th Street, 67th Street, Bay Ridge Parkway, 78th Street, 86th Street, Bath Avenue, Belt Parkway, and 25th Avenue.
Rerouting the B6 from Glenwood Road is a good idea. Keep it going down Avenue H to Flatbush Avenue to Glenwood Road. This will make transfers more eaiser and better serve the junction.
