Redo this entire area. I know it's in MTA's plans to redesign Rockaway Parkway station, but the bus stops serving this area are bad as well. There needs to be bus shelters; designated stops clearly marked for the B6 and B82; when pulling into the station stop, the B6 needs to stop blocking the B82 from entering/leaving their so-called designated bus stop. The delays that come from that action can be horrendous.
A B82 SBS to Gateway Mall NOT using the Belt Parkway. Matter fact the B83 shouldn't use the Belt Parkway. Use the local streets.
During late nights, the B83 should run to Spring Creek (where the B82 terminates). People have to take cabs or walk if they miss the last one from the 3 Train station at Livonia/Pennsylvania Avs. On a weekday, that's about 10 people. And factoring the people missing the last one from Broadway Junction, there is need for that coverage to Spring Creek. The B82 and B20 are not viable alternatives in many cases.
Why are trucks allowed to block the road!?
This is an important route for which buses are the only effective mode of travel. Please include bus lanes to allow buses and emergency vehicles to avoid traffic.
Bus to and from Canarsie can take a very long time, most trips are about an 1& 45 minutes as it's the only option connecting South Brooklyn to points east of Brooklyn.
If you add an SBS, that does nothing to improve service at local stops. It's the LOCAL that needs more frequent service. I take the B82 all the time and there are always 5 B6s that pass while I wait for the 82. Add more local buses and more limited buses, and skip the SBS. People on lines that have SBS have reported nothing but complaints. For another, off-board ticketing is an easy way to miss your bus, and if you miss one you could be waiting 20 or more minutes for the next one. Off-board ticketing only works for buses that run really frequently.
It arrives too late all the time
Anywhere between Utica and Ralph, there should be another atop
The 82 is too crowded sometimes
