This comment solicitation FAILS TO DISCUSS any DOT relevant activities. The comments (properly) discuss Transit Authority issues yet DOT is running the project. If (when) DOT requests federal funds, the issue of this fraud will have to be addressed. Perhaps After Ryan Russo's incarceration, but it will have to be addressed.
Here's an idea! How about a newly distinct B81 SBS route spanning Coney Island and East New York, and extended to Ozone Park Queens to operate along both the B6 and B82 routes replacing the LIMITED-STOP SERVICE along each corridor. To allow enough service, this new B81 SBS should operate at 3 to 5 minute headways during the day, and at 5 to 6 minute headways during Evenings allowing coverage along each route at 3 to 10 minute headways during the day (most frequent service on the B6 corridor due to servicing Flatbush Junction) and 10 to 12 minute headways during the Evenings (alternating service). This could be the beginning of a new route established as a SELECT BUS SERVICE. I would also include a new B85 SBS to operate mostly along the B6 route, to begin at Bay Ridge, and terminate at JFK Airport. There would be connections to the S79 SBS in Bay Ridge to allow Staten Island customers direct access to JFK Airport (since Newark Airport does not have any direct transit routes from Staten Island other than the S89 to Bayonne, and three NJ Transit buses).
I am looking at connection the people at Starret City to the (L) train along with the entire B82 bus route as the SBS corridor in South Brooklyn. There could be a potential for a new B81 SBS route (designed to replace the B82 SBS) which would extend to Ozone Park, Queens, as there is the need to INCREASE SERVICE on the B82 to operate SBS.
You wait a long time at the Glenwood stop and then 3 buses come at once

Too many limiteds on line. Frustrating to see 4 or 5 limiteds go by before a local shows up.
If the B82 does go SBS, Have it run down Avenue P from Ocean Avenue to Bay Parkway. Avenue P is a faster street to work woth. Keep the local on Kings Highway.
Current B82 Limited Schedule needs improvement. Have the B82 Limited run all day (530 AM to 730 PM) and extend Limited Trips to Gateway Mall
Maybe instead of running some westbound buses to Cropsey Avenue or Coney Island, maybe during the rush hours, some local buses can turn back at McDonald and head back to Canarsie, while all SBS buses can run to Coney Island.
The B82 is long overdue for bus improvements, along with the B6 line. In order to make the B82 more of an attractive, viable option for commuters, there must be emphasis on addressing the bottleneck that is Kings Highway between McDonald Avenue and Ocean Avenue. Too often B82s get stuck in traffic in this important business district by the B and Q trains, which means delays and bus bunching up and down the line, more so up the line from Ocean Avenue up to Canarsie than down the line towards Bay Parkway. Once this section is studied and worked on, the rest of the B82 will work as intended.
