Suggest a Secure Bike Parking Location
This feedback map is for Secure Bike Parking, a new citywide program. NYC DOT would like to know how this program can best serve your bike parking needs. Please tell us what type of bicycle you would like to store (standard, e-bike, cargo, adaptive, etc.) and the length of time (long-term, short-term, overnight, weekends, etc.) at each suggested location. You may also indicate preferred amenities such as e-bike battery charging, tire pumps, and bike repair stations.
To add a suggestion, please select the most appropriate bike icon in the “select comment type” dropdown. Next select a submission type (map preferred) and place as close to an intersection or location of interest as possible. If there is an existing marker/pin at your proposed location, please add another marker/pin. If you're having trouble with adding your comments, please review "Feedback Map Instructions" or you can email your suggestions to SecureBikeParkingNYC@dot.nyc.gov.
secure bike parking location !
There is loads of citibike parking in this area but no parking for cyclists who have their own bike. Clearly there is unmet demand. People have no option but to park to fences and street signs.
I will reiterate the previous comment regarding space in front of the Q station. There are also several other spots throughout this block that allow for enough space for bike parking spots. But the area near the halal cart on the back side of the station entrance would be well-served with the spot.

A lot of the buildings in this area don’t have elevators or bike parking and there’s a big school here too. Give us on street secure bike parking!!!
I’ve seen many bikes (including three in my own building) on this street. We can’t leave them outside because of weather and safety, and there are no elevators in any of these buildings, so bringing the bike in is a heavy chore. I used to commute to work in downtown Manhattan from here, but the walk down/up plus all my work things just made it unsustainable. And I also cnanot explore the neighborhood or go to other parts of Brooklyn by bike (because we know that inter-borough buses or subways add at least 30 mins to what would be a 20-min bike ride)
