Bike storage for neighborhood residents and hospital commuters.
Suggest a Secure Bike Parking Location
This feedback map is for Secure Bike Parking, a new citywide program. NYC DOT would like to know how this program can best serve your bike parking needs. Please tell us what type of bicycle you would like to store (standard, e-bike, cargo, adaptive, etc.) and the length of time (long-term, short-term, overnight, weekends, etc.) at each suggested location. You may also indicate preferred amenities such as e-bike battery charging, tire pumps, and bike repair stations.
To add a suggestion, please select the most appropriate bike icon in the “select comment type” dropdown. Next select a submission type (map preferred) and place as close to an intersection or location of interest as possible. If there is an existing marker/pin at your proposed location, please add another marker/pin. If you're having trouble with adding your comments, please review "Feedback Map Instructions" or you can email your suggestions to NYC SecureBikeParking@dot.nyc.gov.
Bike storage for neighborhood residents and hospital commuters.
Bike storage near Astoria Ferry would be very convenient for ferry users who do not want to ride their bikes in Manhattan.
Bike storage here would benefit a lot of residents who would use the E,F subway lines if it was easier to get to Court Square station. This provides quick and convenient transportation to Manhattan.
There is no bike storage inside of Astoria Park, despite of Shore Blvd being bike only. Many people would benefit from this - pool users, picnickers, runners, etc.
There are two pedestrian plazas in this intersection that could easily store electric bikes.
There are multiple options for large, convenient bicycle storage within 100 ft of this location. (Pedestrian plazas both East and West of 21St with see little use, and large sidewalk on 27th Ave). This is a diverse, working class area with heavy use of bicycles, mostly older buildings without bicycle storage. I personally would be able to store a cargo bike if we were able to store it, and know of multiple families in this area who would get rid of their cars if bicycle storage was easier.
Having bicycle storage by the ferry would be extremely impactful for this residential area and improve the usage of combined mobility with the ferry, which now only has a regular rack with abandoned bicycles, which makes it unusable. Plenty of families use the ferry everyday to go to the UES, LIC or Midtown and travel with kids and/or baggage every morning.
Astoria Park is a large park for western Queens. Having parking at the south entrance of Shore Blvd would be beneficial.
Great idea!
good for schools and delivery workers
