Short term bike parking
Suggest a Secure Bike Parking Location
This feedback map is for Secure Bike Parking, a new citywide program. NYC DOT would like to know how this program can best serve your bike parking needs. Please tell us what type of bicycle you would like to store (standard, e-bike, cargo, adaptive, etc.) and the length of time (long-term, short-term, overnight, weekends, etc.) at each suggested location. You may also indicate preferred amenities such as e-bike battery charging, tire pumps, and bike repair stations.
To add a suggestion, please select the most appropriate bike icon in the “select comment type” dropdown. Next select a submission type (map preferred) and place as close to an intersection or location of interest as possible. If there is an existing marker/pin at your proposed location, please add another marker/pin. If you're having trouble with adding your comments, please review "Feedback Map Instructions" or you can email your suggestions to NYC SecureBikeParking@dot.nyc.gov.
Short term bike parking
I run a business on 72nd and we have a significant number of bike commuter customers who have to bring their bikes inside of our store because there is no secure parking.
This area is close to many parks, businesses, and residences. Cycling is starting to tick up in Bay Ridge, however there isnt a lot of bike parking. This would be one of the better places to introduce bike parking to Bay Ridge, especially due to the size of Lief Ericson Park.
A parking spot for students and teachers to commute to school, as well parking for neighborhood residents during off times. Always bikes parked to the fences and poles in the area.
Long term bike parking
I live on a 3 floor walk-up where it would be impossible to bring my bike up, so I have chosen not to purchase a bike. But I'd love to buy one and have brooklyn and even manhattan feel more accessible to me.
Would provide a great spot for cyclist to park and explore/enjoy the walkable neighborhood of Bay Ridge, and all of the small businesses in the area, such as coffee shops, restaurants, bars, and small shops.
Bike storage at the four corners of Central Park would be incredible. Long term parking, overnight parking, short term. It’s all great. Thank you for considering.
There's already a bike lane here, so adding bike storage make a lot of sense too! Also I live nearby. :D
I want to bike with my kids all throughout brooklyn and I live on this bike path and would like to get a bike that can fit kids but I haven't because my apartment does not have room. I can be way more sustainable as a person if I had access to a safe bike parking area here
