Adding secure bike parking near theaters would change my mode choice to bike, as now I don't trust leaving my bike unattended for hours. Neighboring destinations in the area would also benefit.
Suggest a Secure Bike Parking Location
This feedback map is for Secure Bike Parking, a new citywide program. NYC DOT would like to know how this program can best serve your bike parking needs. Please tell us what type of bicycle you would like to store (standard, e-bike, cargo, adaptive, etc.) and the length of time (long-term, short-term, overnight, weekends, etc.) at each suggested location. You may also indicate preferred amenities such as e-bike battery charging, tire pumps, and bike repair stations.
To add a suggestion, please select the most appropriate bike icon in the “select comment type” dropdown. Next select a submission type (map preferred) and place as close to an intersection or location of interest as possible. If there is an existing marker/pin at your proposed location, please add another marker/pin. If you're having trouble with adding your comments, please review "Feedback Map Instructions" or you can email your suggestions to NYC SecureBikeParking@dot.nyc.gov.

Adjacent to an existing CitiBike dock on a block with relatively light traffic.
Adding secure bike parking near major museums, like the Met, Natural History Museum, Whitney, New Museum, Brooklyn Museum, etc. would change my mode choice to bike, as now I don't trust leaving my bike unattended for hours. Neighboring destinations in the area would also benefit.
Would love better bike parking at Hunter College!
I would love a long-term standard bike parking somewhere in this area, it would make a dramatic different in how often I use my bike and free up so much space in my apartment (and make my wife happier). Air pumps in the storage would be super helpful, and some consideration for colder weather might be good so they aren't impacted with snow by plows. Happy to pay a monthly fee to store my bike there. It might be nice to have a bench or something next to it as a social initiative as well, but I'm good with somewhere to safely lock up my bike nearby outside my home like London has!
Newtown Road near 47th would be a great spot--there's a currently-vacant parking lot that could host bike parking, or just put it in some street parking spaces. It's near the 46th Street subway, close to the retail strip and apartments on Broadway and Northern Blvd, and there's a large deliverista population in the area that would benefit from secure bike storage
Students and faculty ride their bikes to NYU Tandon and adjacent offices but the limited unprotected outside bike parking has led to thefts and warnings from NYU to not leave their bikes unattended. This area is a no brainer for secure bike parking.
Brings access to the tram, two bus routes (including the very popular M15), trader joe's, and crunch fitness -- anecdotally, I park my bike here all the time, and there's usually several bikes locked to various street signs / scaffolding. There's definitely demand!
This spot is right off GWB cycle path and next to subway. Many bikers and commuters from NJ could lock their bikes here and then hop on the train.
Bike and e-bike usage and overnight parking at the corner of W101 and West End Ave
