Suggest a Secure Bike Parking Location
This feedback map is for Secure Bike Parking, a new citywide program. NYC DOT would like to know how this program can best serve your bike parking needs. Please tell us what type of bicycle you would like to store (standard, e-bike, cargo, adaptive, etc.) and the length of time (long-term, short-term, overnight, weekends, etc.) at each suggested location. You may also indicate preferred amenities such as e-bike battery charging, tire pumps, and bike repair stations.
To add a suggestion, please select the most appropriate bike icon in the “select comment type” dropdown. Next select a submission type (map preferred) and place as close to an intersection or location of interest as possible. If there is an existing marker/pin at your proposed location, please add another marker/pin. If you're having trouble with adding your comments, please review "Feedback Map Instructions" or you can email your suggestions to SecureBikeParkingNYC@dot.nyc.gov.
One on corner of Mercer and Bleecker would be nice
Parking would do well here. I frequently see tens of deliverista bikes parked on top of one another, and many bikes attached to tree guards along 135th st. between 7th and 8th. Also, I live around the block and had my e-bike stolen from inside my house, so the secure parking would be very useful.
There is a blocked off section of road here already, next to a playground, near the subway Q train, and along the bike routes for downtown and uptown and towards the park. It seems like a natural location.
Ebike
Several gyms on this block have many members that bike here. Would be great to have a secure spot to lock our bike for a short period of time while we are at the gym.
YES to bike parking at/around Penn Station from all directions
Secure cargo bike parking would be great here. There are many families who own large bikes that don't fit through building entrances or in building elevators, so a secure location for these large bikes would be very helpful.
Yes to Grand Central and Penn Station secure bike parking
This location maximizes access to the elementary school, the park, grocery stores, and the DeKalb and Jefferson Ave L-train stations.
Many people park bikes by the school, a dedicated spot for parking bikes would be great. Would also encourage students, teachers, and parents to arrive to the school via bike.
