This massive intersection is too dangerous and could benefit from a roundabout. Every other city uses them, but NYC has been to shy to try them. In this age of Vision Zero, please make it work and try it out.
Much of Atlantic Ave East Bound traffic splits here and shifts over to the Conduit, yet the stretch East of the Conduit remains wide with highway like speeds. Give it a Queens Blvd makeover and add a bike lane here to create a safer street.
Make it safer and more pleasant to walk on Atlantic Avenue. Please increase lighting for pedestrians, not only over the vehicle lanes! Also add street trees, street furniture, and bike parking where possible to protect walkers from the street.
Please add more north-south bike routes crossing Atlantic Ave and connecting to Highland Park. Ashford and Warwick Streets are good candidates.
Please add a crosswalk at Cleveland Street.
Car wash constantly blocks sidewalk illegally.
Auto body shops constantly use the sidewalk for illegal car storage.
A protected bike path is badly needed. There is a huge drop off in vehicle traffic east of Conduit Blvd. Traffic volume on this stretch of Atlantic does not require 3 lanes in each direction. One of the lanes each way should be reallocated to a protected bike path.
Needs crosswalk with countdown. Many kids in area need it
