Vermont St - Atlantic Ave - Liberty Ave

The bike lane markings have faded. As they always do. And when they do it takes a year of complaints to get DOT's radar and another year to restripe. This process is pretty absurd. This is a direct connection to Highland park. We need better markings on signs and on the ground to direct bikes and alerts drivers that cyclists will be crossing Atlantic here.

There is speeding because of long stretches without crosswalks. However, peds still try crossing. If perhaps the median were filled with planters or given a raised boulevard treatment like is being done on 4th avenue in Park Slope, you would have fewer pedestrians risk un-signalized mid block crossings.

The vehicular overpass descends here and prompts drivers to keep up their highway speeds which is terribly unsafe for all. NO ONE respects the speed limit on Atlantic and enforcement is absent. New engineering is needed.
