Please show that you are committed to ALL aspects of Vision Zero. Not only are pedestrian safety fixes desperately needed but a protected bike lane as well. It is so dangerous to ride and Ive almost been hit several times and rammed into parked cars by agressive drivers.
Auto body shop parks cars in the median when they run out if space in the shop
Crosswalk needs to be more visible
People drive too fast
Auto body shops constantly use the sidewalk for illegal car storage.
Extend time to cross
Better lighting needed on all of Atlantic
More breaks in the median to accomodate U-Turns for drivers
Raised median is a good idea to make it safer for pedestrians
Much of Atlantic Ave East Bound traffic splits here and shifts over to the Conduit, yet the stretch East of the Conduit remains wide with highway like speeds. Give it a Queens Blvd makeover and add a bike lane here to create a safer street.
