I love the SBS signs very helpful for trip planning.
The drivers are not professional or courteous. We are paying them for their service and they act horrible to their customers and drive reckless. They should be moved to another location and be more monitored by police. If they are registered and legal then they should have no worries.
Big fat streets with many turning buses. I don't feel particularly safe crossing this street (I go to Central Library very often), and the buses coming out of the terminal add to this feeling.
A range of problems. Too many cars slow down the bus traffic on this important bus trunk route. Sidewalk space is inadequate, and bus stops alongArcher Ave are unpleasant. Archer Ave between Sutphin Blvd and 168 St sshould be car-free. Narrow the road for only buses, and use the remaining space for a protected bike route so that biking to the J train will finally be safer. The narrowed streets should also make walking across the street easier. Hopefully this will put the dollar vans under control too.
I feel the vans need to be relocated on this block. When the q111, q113,q114 buses are traveling on Parsons Blvd. The vans often block traffic and turn in front of buses. Sometimes it takes so much time to get from Parsons to Archer.
These commuter vans are always in the bus stop and are making life difficult for the average New Yorker who need to get on the bus. They honk and yell at people and try to hustle and intimidate residents into the van. Its awful and frankly embarrassing to our community!
I feel pedestrian bridges should be built to cross from Jamaica to Archer. It would help get the children across safely make turning easier for vehicles and increase flow of traffic.
We need better traffic control, more car parking and no bikes. This is Queens, people commute in cars, we dont have the public transit connections like Manhattan and Brooklyn. We commute to the station in our cars! Bikes and bike lanes make it too congested!
It would be nice to have a bike lane on Hillside Ave and bike parking. It would help reduce pollution and drivers would have to slow down. Also, less congestion on the sidewalk from people riding their bikes.
