Bike Lane Requested
Bike Lane Requested
Metropolitan Ave - Rodney St - Union Ave

Metropolitan Ave. between Union Ave. and N5 St. desperately needs a two way protected bike lane. This is a major crossing for cyclists trying to get past the barrier that is the BQE overpass. Trucks, buses and cars speed through here once the light turns green causing very stressful conditions for cyclists and pedestrians crossing this complex, highway-like intersection.

When trucks take non-truck routes on side streets (like N4 street) they get stuck and block vehicle traffic, causing cars to detour into bike lane. The bike lane needs better protection to prevent motorists from using the lane. See here: https://twitter.com/MaxSholl/status/856524288324710402

Not much space for bikes with traffic backed up.

Cars move very fast on berry - need crosswalk similar to metropolitan

Traffic exiting the Williamsburg Bridge and turning left onto Broadway rarely yield to pedestrians in the crosswalk (traversing Broadway north/south) Since the reconstruction of this area we expected that this hazard would be addressed - unfortunately this has not been the case and the intersection is still a nightmare. A veritable pedestrian crap shoot. A delayed green would easily allow for pedestrians to cross safely without having to guess whether the traffic will yield to them in the crosswalk.

The 5 way intersection at the corner of manhattan/leonard/engert needs more than just stop signs. Because there are so many directions for drivers to look no one pays attention to the crosswalks. Its actually safer to walk through the middle of the intersection that it is to stay in the pedestrian walkway since its easier for drivers to see you.

Long Wait to Cross
Engert Ave - Humboldt St - Russell St

There really should be a stop sign at this intersection for cars coming down Engert St toward Russell. Cars consistently speed through here, and there are many pedestrians walking or running down Russell to or from McGolrick park. It would be easy to cross this intersection and get hit by a car speeding down Engert without even realizing there was no stop sign.

Leonard St - Bayard St - Manhattan Ave

Traffic approaching from the Bayard side doesn't see that there is no stop sign on the Leonard side. There is a cross walk for Bayard which leads motorists to believe Bayard traffic has to stop and so they pull out right in front of on coming cars

Nassau Ave - North Henry St - Monitor St

Drivers do not properly follow laws regarding pedestrians at this intersection, and often speed through (often times trucks). I saw this happen twice to parents with their baby carriages.

Double Parking

Graham Ave - Devoe St - Metropolitan Ave

Double parked delivery trucks block buses and traffic for hours - often in both lanes- on Graham avenue in front of CTown. This causes congestion and danger to cyclists and auto traffic.
