This used car lot is not all that busy from what I see and a section could be saved for car sharing without much structural change or loss of spots. It's a well lit area with lots of traffic and just a few blocks from our major transit hub but also having a bus line across the street.
I second the idea of putting carshare cars in this little-used lot, if it is possible. It won't use up precious street spots.
No a comment on this specific location. But in general I'm very supportive of the idea. I recommend locating at least some of the spaces near the Roosevelt Avenue corridor, so they are transit accessible.
Right on the street in the middle of very dense buildings that do not have parking lots, so residents of those buildings have easy access!
While there is a bank present at this location it has a huge parking lot that is not fully utilized. Maybe the city could strike a deal with them
I just want something close to my house.
There is a paid lot here. It is not visible on the Google Streeview overlay appearing, but is open, and currently holds car share vehicles. Use of already existing underused public garage space does not compete with existing residents who street park.
This might be a great spot/ there are Q47 and Q49 bus stops around, so it would also be easy for people to connect bus travel with a car share.
78th Street - North of the main area of Travers Park might be a great place for carshare parking. Easy access to Northern, and not adding additional traffic to the residential part of the neighborhood.
