Join NYC H2O, HRWG, NDP, NYC DOT, and community activists Chauncy Young and Duane Bailey-Castro for a walk along this underdeveloped and under-used path along the Harlem River.
RSVP here.
This walk will offer stunning views of the High Bridge and Harlem River and connect the High Bridge with River Park Towers and Roberto Clemente State Park. We will discuss ways for this section to reach its full potential as part of the larger NYC greenway network and become an asset to the community.
Duane Bailey-Castro is a Bronx-based photographer who has spent over 10 years photographing the Harlem River and its bridges. He uses his images to celebrate the history and beauty of this part of the city's urban landscape. His website is www.duanebaileycastro.com.
Chauncy Young is a community organizer and greenway advocate based in the High Bridge neighborhood of the Bronx. Since the Harlem River was included in the Urban Rivers Federal Partnership, he has served on the advisory council with Federal Agency partners. Chauncy also collaborates with the DOT's advisory committee for the NYC Greenway Coalition.
This walking tour is sponsored by Council Member Althea Stevens.
The NYC Department of City Planning is committed to supporting efforts to equitably expand access to waterfront open space for all New Yorkers.
