Please implement extended curbs via Street Improvement Projects at this intersection to improve visibility and safety
Remove the parking spot between Bedford and Rogers at this intersection and extend the curb to gain pedestrian space and create opportunities for additional greenery and improvements in the area: tree beds, bioswales, planters...
I WOULD LIKE TO KEEP MY BUS STOP HERE AS SOME WITH DISABILITIES, THE BUS STOP HERE IS CONVENIENT. AN ATLANTIC AVENUE STOP WOULD BE BOTH DANGEROUS AND INCONVENIENT.
YOUR PLAN WOULD PREVENT SENIORS IN WHEELCHAIRS/WALKERS, USING CAR SERVICE,ACCESS TO BEING DROPPED OFF IN FRONT OF THE CHURCH ON DEAN STREET
The bikes will decrease the parking demand and increase sidewalk conflicts between pedestrians and cyclists.
DOT should consider extending the curbs to shorten the pedestrian crossings and make sure they're not only painted but also protected with planters for them to truly slow down traffic and protect pedestrians. Painting extended curbs and adding some plastic signs doesn't work unless you pair it with more fines for illegal parking and obstacles to make it harder to park there.
This pedestrian crossing has a curb extension in the middle of the pedestrian way that has made dozens of people trip. It's incredibly dangerous and should be removed and redesigned.
People with limited mobility cannot cross Atlantic using this pedestrian crossing because the pedestrian island that's next to the LIRR fence doesn't have an incluned curb. It's a very high step and this is dangerous for everyone. I have seen people tripping while walking distracted. Needless to say, laying on the road if you happen to trip due to this poor design is a life-threatening situation in this stretch of Atlantic Avenue
I want to register my disappointment at the proposed redesign of Dean st as a bike boulevard and the subsequent removal of the B65 bus route from Dean st. Dean st already has a bike lane and does not have the bike traffic to necessitate such an expensive and disruptive redesign. More than that though, this would represent a significant decline in accessibility for the communities that live all along Dean st. The B65 route is essential for everyone. Our neighborhood in particular has a large number of older and differently abled New Yorkers who rely on the B65 in particular to get around. Please consider scrapping this expensive, unnecessary, and ill advised overhaul of Dean st.
Extended curbs for safe pedestrian crossing across Fulton St here please
