Bike Lane Protection
Bike Lane Protection
Dean St - 6 Ave - Carlton Ave

Dean street out to Vanderbilt is under tremendous construction pressure leaving the road riddled with steel plates, potholes, and dangerous conditions that push cyclists into the path of oncoming cars. Move the cars to a better cross-town location, maintain for local access, and repair the roads. Yay for a bike boulevard!

A bike boulevard on this block would be a disaster. It would pose challenges to anyone needing deliveries, car services, or moving trucks. This block is already overtaxed with a bike lane, a truck lane, and two buses!! Why burden the residents even more?

Difficult Turn/Crossing
Difficult Turn/Crossing
Bergen St - 4 Ave - 5 Ave

The B63 bus cannot make this turn effectively. Every single morning, because of traffic, there is a B63 bus blocking the crosswalk because there is traffic on 4th Avenue. How are people with strollers or wheel chairs supposed to cross safely? How are pedestrians without mobility issues supposed to cross safely. Please re-route the B63 bus to where it used to be.

As a driver and cyclist, I want to reiterate that bike lanes (slower moving traffic) always be on the RIGHT SIDE! I’ve seen some painted on the left in Bklyn with no protective barrier. Drivers have blind spots and that’s the fast lane. Newby riders should be off the road, especially with children in tow. Bike lanes should have been better thought out because they cause intersection accidents between turning cars/bikes and crossing pedestrians ESPECIALLY SENIORS having to watch out for every direction. The city has become UNFRIENDLY TO SENIORS as it is redesigned by younger newcomers seeking to create their utopia. The accident and death rate has probably increased because of all these changes and influx of ebikes which should be considered as CARS and registered and insured if cars have to. The parked cars along the sidewalk were OUR buffers between us and moving traffic. It’s too complicated to cross the street now and it takes away parking at intersections causing more traffic as cars circle around looking for parking. The city wasn’t designed for bikes and motorized bikes use the lanes. My son was in a head on collision with an emotorcycle on a bike path. Take the money for street changes and make public transit FREE FAST and RELIABLE. The bike lanes only cater to a minority of able-bodied, are not all-season use and are indirectly increasing traffic and pollution. Bring back electric powered trolleys- most tracks are still there!!! And make them FREE!!!

I live on this block. It’s very congested with bikes, cars and buses. I’d appreciate less traffic, but I need to be able to load and unload in front of my home on a few occasions a year. I’m not a car owner because of lack of parking, but we do rent or borrow cars a couple of times a year. Inevitably, there is an event at Barclays when all bus stops, church spots, and fire hydrants are occupied. I am interested in seeing what the proposal is.

The new bike lane design on Court Street has protected bikes from cars and trucks, but it has introduced new dangers to pedestrians. There is not enough of a barrier to deter pedestrians( including children, feebled, disabled or with dogs( from accidentally stepping off of the curb into the path of a bicycle. A solid fence is not necessary (nor desirable); benches or other seating would be nice (but might create a loitering problem). A combination of tree pits, intermittent fencing, bike racks and planters would visually remind pedestrians of the parameters of the sidewalk.

We're a family living on this block, and with the constant truck traffic and two bus routes, we're experiencing a significant amount of exhaust coming through our windows. The noise from large trucks and frequent honking has also become increasingly disruptive. This is a residential street and should be treated as one, not as a route for heavy through traffic. The current volume of large vehicles has a real impact on residents' health, safety, and quality of life, and we hope steps can be taken to reduce it.

This bicycle project is a badvidea. A number of pedestrians have already been injured due to the bike lane. When you drive down Court and make a left onto a side street the parked cars block thecability to see the bike lane. This is an accident waiting to happen. NYPD does not police the bike lane. I have seen e-bijes and mopeds using the bike lane. This is very dangerous. There is traffic congestion in this area due to TradercJoe and other stores. Another problem is buses. With just one lane of traffic congestion is constant. The business district is suffering from this bicycle lane set up. The entire project should be shelved.

No more bike lanes! Traffic is a disaster, and the bike lane is unused most of the time. It's a waste of money and space
