Dean St - Bond St - Nevins St

My husband and I have lived on this block of Dean Street since the mid 1970's. Now that we are in our 70's and 80's and living with mobility issues, ready accessibility to our home is more important than ever. Walking even an extra block or two is very difficult for us. Parking on the block has become increasingly difficult and sometimes using a taxi for local trips has become a reality for us. Being able to drive down the block to unload groceries or park nearby is very important to us. During the last 50 years there has always been (and continues to be) renovations and deliveries that required dumpsters, moving vans and large trucks to have ready access to the block. Double parking is a constant necessity making car and bike navigation difficult at best. While we love the idea of increasing bike usage to relieve car traffic, we have seen that the majority of bike traffic does not stay in the bike lanes and zoom right through the intersections without even slowing down. Over the years, I have personally witnessed several bad accidents and many near collisions.

Make safer for bikes at rush hour! At rush hour there is SO MUCH honking out of my window that are cars seemingly mad at bikers for existing

A fully protected bike blvd would be ideal, there’s already more bikes than cars on the road during rush hour, it would be so much safer for everyone involved.

Dangerous crossing for cyclists and pedestrians. Please prioritize street safety improvement initiatives (extended curbs, traffic calming measures)

Please improve this section for pedestrians. Crossing Bedford and Rogers is incredibly dangerous. Slow down traffic, protect pedestrians, add extended curbs, improve visibility and make everything less horrible for those of us that LIVE THERE!

I try to actively avoid crossing Atlantic Avenue due to the dangerous / speeding traffic and overall inhospitable experience

Crossing Atlantic Avenue is incredibly dangerous, no matter if you're a pedestrian or a cyclist

This bike lane should be fully protected, similar to the new court st bike lane. Important to have specific parking for delivery trucks who tend to use bike lanes as their parking. Also this should be fully connected to the Clinton and court st, ad well as Brooklyn and Manhattan bridge bike lane networks.
