the road surface is really bad on this whole stretch but there's also lots of chaotic driving and double/triple parking, i assume both from overflow barclays attendees but also lots of people being picked up/dropped off in cars from the gym and apartments on this block. a redesign should anticipate frequent cars stopping on the left side of the road, as i don't see that stopping. currently, cars either double park in the bike lane to drop people off or stop directly to the right of it, and passengers getting out of the cars cross without looking for bikes

I'd really love to see these north south lanes on tompkins and throop converted to protected lanes - there simply is nothing that goes north/south this far east for folks, just busses, which are great, but cycling lanes would be a huge improvement. getting to eastern parkway or bergen/dean is dangerous right now, especially crossing fulton, atlantic, or flughing broadway heading north to williamsburg or greenpoiont

this little stretch of road should probably be updated - its too short to meaningfully hold traffic and crossing two roads here feels dangerous on a bike

I live in bedstuy and in order to head south west i usually bike down bergen and have to cross fulton/atlantic here - i really wish that tompkins/throop/brooklyn/kingston was protected as well, but i'm really excited to hear about the expansion and protection of bergen and dean!

The vehicle left turn lane and bike lane merge at this corner, which combined with the downhill and relatively narrow street/low visibility as you approach the corner has led to many close calls as cars will dart into the combo bike/left turn lane at the last second

Guys. I not only voted for Zohran, but I was an early supporter. I'm a member of DSA. I am begging whoever oversees this comment section to listen to me. I have lived in the neighborhood for my entire life. The vast majority of bikers in this area are out of town, rich, white people who have forced this community to assimilate to their demands while paying millions of dollars to take over the homes of those who have been here for generations. please, don't do this. The bike lane on court street has been abject disaster. It has not made pedestrian traffic more safe, it has rocketed up the use of illegal double parking, and has cut down business to those who live on the farther ends of court street. forcing this bike lane, which nobody - outside of the vast number of young gentrifying rich individuals, have asked for, is a dereliction of duty. please go door to door on hoyt street and bond street, from bergen to dean, and ask people what they think about turning these streets into a bike boulevard. i guarantee you, the vast majority of them will disagree with this proposal. a democratic socialist government means having involvement from ALL people, especially before you drastically redesign every day commutes for those who have lived in this neighborhood for nearly half a century. get with it, and do a better job of outreach, the world does not live in the bubble of rich gentrifiers, and we need to STOP bending the knee to them. they are a minority, their dollars however, dont act like it. sincerely, a 30+ year resident. wake up yall.

There's frequent double-parking and bike-lane blocking on this block, and it sucks to have to ride in the door zone. Please take away a lane of parking and use it to build a fully-protected bike lane.

Barclays center traffic double and triple parks in the road and into the bike lane. Cars swerve for drop offs. Delivery vans and trucks pull in and out without looking. There isn't a functual route for bikes that isn't risky.

The road surface is terrible from Flatbush to Underhill. It's hard to take bikes over it because it is so bumpy. I feel my brain hitting my skull and it is painful. Not good for cars, either. They swerve all over to avoid bumps, which makes it more dangerous for bikes.
