Bike Lane Protection
Bike Lane Protection
Bedford Ave - St Marks Ave - Prospect Pl

Extend the protected bike lane beyond Dean Street to connect with Eastern Parkway. I support the Bergen/Dean Bike Boulevard project, but it must prioritize a seamless, protected network connection from Bedford Avenue to Eastern Parkway. Bedford Avenue currently has several high-risk crossings that are dangerous for both cyclists and pedestrians. I urge the DOT to use this project to 'daylight' these intersections and implement concrete protections. A 'bike boulevard' is only effective if it connects to the wider network; please ensure this design bridges the current gap and secures the entire Bedford corridor for all road users

A bike boulevard on Dean and Bergen would be a phenomenal improvement! It’s already such a popular E-W bike corridor and there really aren’t any other alternatives. This would both improve the livability along the streets for the community by reducing through traffic and increase the connectivity between neighborhoods! Really a win win.

The B65 constantly gets stuck here because of gridlock at this short block. Turning cars clog the intersection forcing the bus to sit for multiple light cycles.

Bike boulevards on Bergen & Dean Streets are a great idea! So important for kids to develop safe street riding skills given that they are not supposed to ride on the sidewalk once they turn 13, and there are not many places for them to practice. Car owners have enjoyed decades of free use of public space for their personal property. It's important we all share the space. Cyclists are not interlopers. Would be great if DOT promoted courteous riding skills, e.g. warning other cyclists & pedestrians before passing.

The bike boulevard is an awesome idea. More space for bikes, and fewer parking spaces please--drivers put everyone at risk, and we should minimize driving as much as possible

This area sees frequent double-parking due to school dropoff. It would be great to eliminate some parking spaces here and turn them into permanent drop-off spaces. Also, making the bike lane on Classon a protected lane would help a lot.

Please add a two way bike lane to Congress Street to allow riders to safely and quickly connect to the Brooklyn Greenway. Currently the west route on Bergen ends on Court Street. Riders wishing to get to Brooklyn Bridge Park and other waterfront attractions must either navigate deadly Atlantic Avenue or take a ~6 block detour via Kane Street

It would be ridiculous to a bike boulevard on this street and very onerous for residents and well as pedestrians and for all of the deliveries people need and drops offs end pick up. As it is with the like lane we Gabe it’s a msg or danger for pedestrians crossing the stttets at 4th and 5th avenues Drop offs from Lyfts -deliveries and truck traffic this street is already beleaguered by now two buses and several trucks who Go through on This street everyday as well as by putting in A bike lane you take all of the parking spaces on this block heavily used by the residents who live here ln both dudes of the street. When Barclays was built they were supposed to give some concessions to our residents on Dean and Bergen And Other surrounding streets including seriously considering dime parking permits be granted to the residents here which never happened o star you hand people coming to The Barclays games and concerts parking on our streets including on front of all of tbr fire hydrants ,

A bike boulevard on this street is a terrible idea! This street is too narrow for bicycles, trucks, buses, and cars. If there is a bike boulevard, how will people, especially the disabled and elderly, get deliveries, car services, and ambulance services. Please do not privilege bicyclists over residents. Consider a different block with less traffic. Don't eliminate the B65, which is an essential part of public transportation for residents.
