Red Light Running

Classon Ave - Pacific St - Dean St

Staff (or maybe the owner?) of the warehouses on the north side of Bergen just west of the grassy lot blow through this red light going west multiple times per day. Worst offender is a blue minivan driver who barely even slows down for the light, and I've seen him almost hit a number of cyclists going north on Classon who have the green light. He blows through the stop sign just to park illegally in front of what seems to be a warehouse mid-block on the north side. We need a protected bike on Dean and Bergen, but it's also got to go hand in hand with enforcement of existing laws!

I'm extremely in favor of a protected bicycle lane along Dean and Bergen Streets! Keeping cyclists protected and moving is my highest priority. Thank you!

Bedford Ave - Atlantic Ave - Pacific St

How many accidents (and near accidents) do we need here for the DOT to prioritize this dangerous intersection? It's a VZV Priority Intersection and it's still one of the most dangerous places for pedestrians in NYC. We need raised concrete curbs, real pedestrian islands, traffic calming measures, better signaling and better handling of the traffic light timing to cross the streets. It's so dangerous right now!

Bergen St - Franklin Ave - Bedford Ave

Need to calm down the traffic at Bedford for any of these bike lanes to be truly safe. Cars and trucks now speed through and it's very dangerous for everyone. Please add speed cameras, bumps, pedestrian refuge islands and curb extensions to force drivers to make slower, wider turns.

Dean St - 3 Ave - Nevins St - Brooklyn

Dean and Bergen already have bike lanes. Why are we doing this exactly? These are multi use streets that should remain that way and they remain accessible for all, not just bikes and ebikes (which is really what we're taking about here, more ebikes). By all accounts the bike redesign on Court Street and Underhill have been disaster for residents & businesses in those areas. Court street neighbors even tried suing the city it's been so bad for multiple reasons. There is this mad obsession with prioritizing bikes over every other mode of transportation (including walking) in the city but very little serious look at the short & long term consequences of them. Neighborhood concerns are ignored. I say all this as both a bike rider and car owner.
